The Context
Bendigo Health is a large and complex regional health service, spanning multiple departments, services and audiences.
While the brand foundations were in place, application across teams was inconsistent. Different departments were interpreting the brand in varying ways, resulting in fragmented communications and uneven visual standards.
The challenge wasn’t reinvention. It was refinement, at scale.
The Challenge
With multiple teams producing content independently:
- Visual elements were applied inconsistently
- Layout systems lacked cohesion
- Reliance on a small number of familiar templates limited flexibility
Messaging varied across departments
At the same time, high-profile initiatives, including the Strategic Plan 2026–30 and Bendigo Health Week, required confident, unified communication.
The organisation needed clarity, structure and usability, without disrupting existing brand equity.
The Strategy
Rather than introducing a new brand system, the approach focused on strengthening and clarifying what already existed.
Working closely with Corporate Affairs, we:
- Refined typography hierarchy for clarity and accessibility
- Expanded and rationalised the colour palette for greater flexibility
- Developed a more structured layout system
- Introduced refined iconography and illustration styles
- Reduced over-reliance on existing motifs
- Created practical, usable brand guidelines
The objective was simple: Give internal teams tools that make consistency effortless.
Strategic Plan 2026–30
The Strategic Plan required a confident, future-focused presentation aligned with Bendigo Health’s scale and credibility.
The design needed to:
- Communicate vision and direction clearly
- Appeal to executive leadership and the Department of Health
- Remain accessible for internal stakeholders
- Align seamlessly with broader brand standards
The final document delivered a cohesive, modern and structured visual identity that strengthened leadership messaging and organisational confidence. Feedback described the result as “clear, professional and engaging”, with strong executive approval.
Campaign Spotlight: Bendigo Health Week
Bendigo Health Week required a flexible visual system that could extend across:
- Event signage
- Social media
- Internal communications
- Environmental graphics
- Print collateral
- On-site activation materials
Using the refined brand framework, the campaign maintained consistency across physical and digital environments, from hospital signage to online engagement.
The result was a recognisable, energetic and unified campaign presence that felt unmistakably Bendigo Health.
Systems That Scale
